Mixed media with Quilling

Here's my entry for Indian Quilling Challenge Group IQCG#38

I have used a white cardstock and the background is coloured using corrugated board .The colours used were green, yellow , blue and pink. The circles were printed(stenciled) using acrylic paints and different bottle caps .I have used itsy bitsy chipboard cuts which were dabbed with pink acrylic paint and finally sponged with gold powder. Inside the chipboard cut , I have used tissue paper and glued it with modpodge and later coloured it with the back ground colour to give it a depth ...
I have also used the real twigs that were coloured using brown paint and dabbed with gold powder for the glittery effect .Quilled flowers and birds are stuck to the card. I have used pearl and antique gold bead embellishments. I wanted a golden finish and hence sprinkled the golden powder here and there. I loved making them and thankyou Shylashree for the amazing contest.

Canvas Photo Magnet

Dear friends,

Here's my Quilled Canvas Photo Magnet . I made this photo magnet a year ago . Happy to be sharing it in the month of September :-) as this was made for my little sweet heart nephew , who was/is fond of Baby TV .

The base material used is canvas bought from Itsy bitsy . I have made the characters Pop and Piz ( Blue & Pink characters - used 5 mm blue n pink quilling strips respectively ) , Charlie ( the boy in dark green - 5mm  dark green quilling strips ), Tuli ( the caterpillar - made of loose coils in 3mm blue & yellow quilling strips) , Butterfly ( made with 3mm yellow and orange quilling strips ) , clouds ( made of loose coils from  3mm white strips ) , rainbow from 5 mm quilling strips in rainbow colours . Little space has been left in the middle of the canvas to stick the photo and magnets have been placed on the back of the canvas for support .

Pl do leave your valuable feedback in the comments .

A Happy note :-)

This is a Wedding Anniversary card I made for my parents. I recycled the thick sheets that was lying around in my stash as the card base. I used red handmade paper and glued it to the base card.

When searching for ideas, I came across Lin's blog and I fell in love with this cute Love Birds theme and hence wanted to recreate it.

The borders are crimped using a crimped tool and I have added pearl embellishments and punched leaves . I used a transparent cover to protect the card :-)

Thanks and Have a great day.

Pl pour in your feedback .

Quilled flowers and a Handmade Paper frame

I made this Quilled flower frame few months back . I learnt to make Fringed flowers ( wasn't so good at it back then ) and quilled roses and I wanted to place it in a frame. There came to rescue- Inna's blog and her handmade paper frame tutorial- Inna's creations .

I made a paper frame based on the measurements in the blog . I guess I used a 120 gsm cardstock back then. I love the way it has turned out :-)

I also felt that using a heavier cardstock ( 180 gsm and above) would be sturdy enough and ideal for gifting purposes.

Materials Used :

White Cardstock (120 gsm)

3mm quilling strips in Red, Yellow and Lavender to make Fringed flowers

3mm quilling strips in Green to make leaves and scrolls

3mm quilling strips in Rose to make buds

10mm quilling strips in Red to make roses

Slotted quilling tool, glue, paper knife, measuring scale and scissors

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great day.

Pl pour in your valuable feedback.
